Sign this Postcard. No More Aid to Israel.

We are initiating a new postcard campaign to call on Lee to end all military aid to Israel. This comes after her decision to support a supplemental $200 Million to Israel in May 2010. Israel's annual $3 Billion in US military aid originates from the  House Committee on Foreign Affairs, where Barbara Lee has served for many years.  Lee also serves on the House Committee on Appropriations. We need to tell Lee  that progressives reject US military aid to repressive regimes, including Israel. In the next few weeks we hope to get hundreds of signatures of local voters to send to Barbara Lee.

Over the next 10 years, the US has committed itself to sending $30 Billion to Israel.  It is estimated that through 2018, taxpayers in Barbara Lee's district will have sent at least $66 Million to Israel as it demolishes homes in the West Bank. (Israel just destroyed a whole West Bank village in mid-July).

 Money that will be used to destroy homes in the West Bank could instead be used to build homes in West Oakland. The $66 million of taxpayer money that comes from her district alone could instead be used to provide 800 households with affordable housing grants every year.

Barbara Lee has the courage to stand up to saying NO to President Obama (see clip) and refuse funding war and occupation in Iraq and Afghanistan, a move that has won Lee the appreciation of many who struggle for a just and peaceful planet. We demand that she and others will also stand up and say NO to the funding of the war against the Palestinian people.
